When Nothing Goes Right

It is common knowledge that life ain’t fair. But some fair minded blokes envision the world as some kind of a pristine abode. What’s striking is not their ultimate dismay but their hope that things would be clean the next time around. When we look at the world around us and the ones that inhabit it, the shrewd, cunning, deceit, manipulative lead luxurious, happy lives while the upright seem to be struggling. Fortune is a random number generator with a partial bias to filthy mongrels .The talented, down to earth don’t get jobs whereas the headstrong and arrogant empty vessels do. Boasting and lying (they call the package ‘self confidence’) does the trick than straight talk. Nice guys are almost never picked by damsels, they prefer cooler ones and the intersection of the two is pretty low. And nice females(if such a thing does exist!) stand a distant second to the cute and hot ones when it is the guy’s turn to pick (which by the way leaves nice guys and good girls, why can’t they pick each other and be happy, apparently every guy wants cute girls and every girl wants cool guys). And the list goes on and on.

How do the amicable react to such an avalanche? They muse , rant and with time comes a critical point where a decision has to be made - either continue being good and continue getting treated like muck, this is when they longer care about anything, they don’t live, they just exist. Or turn a leaf and try become like their foxy counterparts, this when they think they’ve had enough and they need to imbibe success, no matter what, no matter how. You can’t really blame either category. Recurring failures can sometimes prove excruciating, especially after you put in tons of effort and go about stuff the right way
.
Well, so which is the right way to go about it? NEITHER. Ask em’ to bring it on. Push yourself further. There is no point whimpering. You aren’t going a move an inch forward by grumbling about this iniquitous control volume. This is how life is – You are given a problem with a bunch of limitations and you need to give your best. And people look at your result, not effort. So what next, kvetch about the pain? Just fathom “All the world’s a gym”. Pain is an impetus, a precursor of stronger sinews. Feel grateful about it, It shows you are still in the race, that there is progress, that you are there taking on the ogres, persistent and undaunted. Be gratified something prods you when you digress. Having said that it takes enormous courage to do all this; no one is going to give credit, not even appreciate what you ‘ve been through and still going through for no ultimate rewards.

Keep going and probably you’ll win some day or maybe never. Whatever the result, you’ve got every reason to be proud and contented. Walking the straight path after finding an illegal (and unmonitored) bypass requires sturdiness of the mind and a beautiful attitude. What if you didn’t win, you still rocked. After all life is but an array of memories. Revamp some cells when you want to. And keep complimenting others like you, that would make ton of a difference amidst the hardships. Hopefully an afterlife must exist where the good get to reap their due and the bad get roasted and rotten in hell.

  13. well written mahesh. 'pain is an impetus' very true. like they sing "validhaan vettriyin ragasiyame"

nice females - if such a thing exists??? there goes ur male chauvinism again! women are no lesser mortals than men mahesh. i vehemently oppose ur statement. if guys rule so do girls. if girls are sick..so very well are guys..for a post so mature with reflections on life am sad this line happens to be a huge minus!
